زمینه و هدف: نظریه هوش هیجانی به عنوان قدرت توانایی کنترل هیجانات در راه دستیابی به موفقیت در زندگی شخصی و حرفه ای به یک نظریه جهانی و فراگیر تبدیل شده است. به نظر می رسد هوش هیجانی در پیشگیری از شکایت علیه پزشکان نقش مهمی داشته باشد. این مطالعه سعی در بررسی نقش هوش هیجانی پزشکان در پیشگیری از قصور پزشکی دارد.
روش بررسی: یک مطالعه مقطعی، توصیفی ـ تحلیلی بر روی دو گروه 125 نفره پزشکان متهم به قصور پزشکی (در تخصص های مختلف بیهوشی، زنان و زایمان، جراحی، داخلی و پزشکان عمومی) و پزشکان فاقد سابقه قصور به عمل آمد. روش نمونه گیری به صورت تصادفی ساده بود.
یافته ها: پزشکان متهم به قصور پزشکی در نمره کلی هوش هیجانی و نیز تمامی مؤلفه های آن (روابط درون فردی، روابط بین فـردی، تحمل استرس، سازگاری، خلق کلی) و همچنین در تمامی خرده مقیاس های هوش هیجانی به غیر از خرده مقیاس استقلال، نسبت به پزشکان فاقد سابقه قصور، از نمرات پایین تری برخوردار بودند (01/0p<).
نتیجه گیری: متغیرهای مربوط به هوش هیجانی پزشکان در پیشگیری از شکایت علیه آنان و افزایش رضایتمندی بیمار، نقش مهمی ایفا میکنند.
Background & Aim: The concept of ‘Emotional Intelligence, has been extensively popularized in the corporate world as individuals purport the potential ability to control of emotions intelligence to predict various markers of success. It seems that emotional intelligence has important role in prevention of the complaint against medical practitioners. This study tries to evaluate the doctors' emotional intelligence role in prevention of malpractice.
Materials & Methods: A cross-sectional study enrolled on two 125 individuals groups, medical doctors to be accused of malpractice (anesthesiology, gynecology, surgery, internist as well as general practitioner) and medical doctors, who are never accused of malpractice. It's randomly sampled.
Findings: Medical doctors who accused of malpractice in the entire component (intrapersonal relationship, interpersonal relationship, stress tolerance, adaptability and general mood) and general score of emotional intelligence as well as whole subcomponent of that, except of independency, had fewer score than others.
Conclusion: The factors related of emotional intelligence perform important roles on prevention of the complaint against medical practitioners and increase of the patient satisfaction.
